Exhibit Re-opening - March 9 to May 27, 2022
The Diefenbaker Canada Centre is proud to present for the second time, Amati Quartet: The Legacy of the University of Saskatchewan.
Curated by the Diefenbaker Canada Centre in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan's (USask) Department of Music, this exhibit publicly displays the university's collection of extremely rare Amati instruments.
The quartet includes a viola, cello, and two violins that were handcrafted in the Italian city of Cremona in the 1600s by members of the famous Amati family. Considered pioneers in the practice of constructing bowed stringed instruments—or the first great luthiers—the Amati family have crafted some of the world's most sought-after instruments.
The University of Saskatchewan is proud to own one of the only complete Amati quartets in the world. Join us to learn more about the rich history of these fine instruments.

Amati Quartet Concerts
In conjunction with the Amati Quartet: The Legacy of the University of Saskatchewan exhibit, the USask Department of Music is hosting three concerts at the Diefenbaker Canada Centre for guests to watch and hear the great sounds of these instruments.
The noon-hour concerts will be held on:

- Wednesday, May 11
